‘Absolutely outstanding’: Sky pundit blown away by young Arsenal midfielder

 


Paul Merson has said on Sky Sports News that Arsenal attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard has been “absolutely outstanding” so far this season.

The former Arsenal star made the comments about Odegaard while analysing how well the front-three of the Gunners have been playing this season.

The Sky Sports pundit believes that 23-year-old Norway international attacking midfielder and Switzerland international midfielder Granit Xhaka have been superb for Mikel Arteta’s side so far this season.

Merson said: “Odegaard and Xhaka have been absolutely outstanding as well.”

In our view, Martin Odegaard is one of the best attacking players in the Premier League and has been superb for Arsenal so far this campaign.

Much has been made about the Arsenal front-three of Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus.

Yes, Martinelli, Saka and Jesus have been great, but we cannot ignore the form and performances of Odegaard.

The playmaker, who is only 23 and still very young, has been pulling the strings from the middle of the park for the Gunners.

Odegaard has scored four goals and given two assists in 12 Premier League matches for Arsenal so far this season.

The Arsenal no. 8 has also made two starts and four substitute appearances in the UEFA Europa League for Mikel Arteta’s side so far this campaign.
