Italian confirms midfielder‘WILL BE’an Arsenal player in January

Fabrizio Romano has opened up and told Arsenal.

The Egyptian star found game time hard to come by last season and had to watch the games from the bench, but he played a key role towards the end of the campaign for the Gunners.

And soon after the season has finished – Arsenal come out and announced that Elneny has agreed a new contract at the Emirates – something that had shocked many Gunners fans.

This season he has once again had to watch most of the games from the bench – but has done a decent job when he has been called upon by boss Mikel Arteta.

That led to alot of speculation in the media that he is one player that Arteta could let go – especially as Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey have been doing incredibly well for the Gunners.

However Romano, in his exclusive Substack column for CaughtOffside, has revealed that Arsenal have no intentions of selling Mohamed Elneny in January.

“It always depends on the opportunities. At the moment, there are no negotiations ongoing to sell Elneny for example; also, Arsenal will be busy with many competitions so it always depends on proposals… and let’s see if they will sign 1/2 players in January,” said Romano,

Elneny may not be the most glamourous of players – but he is a decent player to have in the squad that is for sure.

Arsenal may not want to sell the player in the winter window – but how could they begrudge him for wanting to leave if a good offer comes onto the table? He wants to play and not watch the rest of his career pass him by
