Report: Arsenal now keen on 'exceptional' £13m World Cup star, January deal a possibility
Arsenal a keeping a close eye on things at the World Cup and could be ready to make a move for midfielder, Leandro Paredes, in the January window.
Paredes is over in Qatar with Argentina and started the first game against Saudi Arabia. Of course, that was a nightmare for Paredes and Argentina, who saw the Middle Eastern side beat them 2-1.
Paredes was subsequently dropped to the bench for last night’s win over Mexico. However, according to Football London, Arsenal could make a bargain move for the midfielder in January.
It’s claimed that Arsenal are seeking out alternatives to Youri Tielemans and that Paredes, who was linked with a move to England in the summer, is an option. Indeed, Arsenal were one of the clubs mentioned back in the summer.
Dubbed ‘exceptional‘ for his talents in the past, Football London claims that a move for Paredes could be doable in January at a bargain price. Indeed, it could be even less than the £13m being touted around in the summer.
Arsenal are looking to push on in January after topping the table prior to the World Cup. The Gunners are expected to be linked with a number of players.
