Arsenal agree deal with free player, reports claim

As per Italian website Il Romanista, Arsenal have agreed a deal with Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka over a free transfer next summer.

The Frenchman starred with Eintracht for the past four-and-a-half seasons and seeks to make a move away for a new challenge.

However, his current contract expires in June 2023 and he has refused to agree terms over an extension.

Il Romanista claims that the centre-back has already reached an agreement with the North London outfit on a free transfer next summer.

Ndicka’s left foot will be an added advantage as Arteta has already shown that he prefers to start with a left-footed centre-back in the line-up and this has been a reason behind the over-dependence on Gabriel during the current campaign.

More to that is the fact that Ndicka will bring the needed competition into the team to help William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes sit up at time. Also in terms of injuries, Mikel Arteta will be able to have more options.

The Frenchman has identical qualities to Gabriel as he is strong in the air and prefers to clear his lines. He also possesses good distribution skills and can contribute the odd goal from set-pieces. Hence, he would be a superb signing.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are expected to be active in this January transfer window as Mikel Arteta wants to bring in a midfielder and a winger.
